The start of the weekend only means one thing: hitting up the best rooftop bars in the city! Spectacular city views combined with vibey resident DJ’s and a variety of delicious cuisines is what they all have in common, so get ready for a fun weekend ahead visiting some of the best rooftop bars in Brisbane CBD!

1. Maya Mexican, Fortitude Valley

The combination of panoramic views from level 14 and a vibrant atmosphere makes Maya Mexican the perfect spot to hang out at on a sunny afternoon! Sit back and relax in one of the coveted booths while the resident DJ gets you ready for the weekend. To eat, you can’t go wrong with the Choriqueso (insanely cheesy and delicious), and to drink, a Pornstar Martini.

2. The Terrace, South Brisbane

Nestled in the Emporium Hotel on level 21, The Terrace offers stunning views overlooking the expansive South Brisbane. Enjoy the open and spacious feel, thanks to the retractable glass ceiling and open terrace where there’s always something to look at! Try one of their bespoke cocktails while taking in the view, or enjoy a fun Friday or Saturday night catching the resident DJ.

3. Dirty Sultan, Fortitude Valley

With a delicious menu of Neo-Turkish street food and views across Fortitude Valley, it’s easy to see why Dirty Sultan continues to be one of the most popular rooftop bars in Brisbane. It’s the perfect place to catch up with friends, so get in early to book a booth and enjoy a late night DJ on the weekends.

4. Lina, South Brisbane

Another must-see rooftop bar is Lina, a beach-style rooftop bar inspired by the Mediterranean Coast and its famous beach bars. Bring your bikini for a late night dip in the infinity pool, and the casual poolside dining makes it easy to try their extensive menu that celebrates seafood!

5. Soko, Fortitude Valley

For a fun start to the weekend you can’t go wrong with Yoko, an Amazonian jungle-inspired rooftop bar and Peruvian-Japanese restaurant in Fortitude Valley. It’s perched up on level 16, making it easy to enjoy spectacular views over the city and catch some stunning sunsets. Get in early to book a table on a Friday afternoon, as this popular spot can get busy quickly!

6. Iris, Fortitude Valley

Featuring a menu of Spanish and Mediterranean inspired cuisine, Iris is another luxurious rooftop bar to check out while you’re in the area. Between resident DJ’s and live bands performing all weekend long, there’s plenty to keep you entertained while you enjoy one of their carefully curated cocktails or selection of international beers.

I would now love to go to The Terrace for a visit. I would prefer one daytime cocktail visit to take in the views of the sky. I would also love to take in a night visit with some additional cocktails (oh yes 😉) and listen to the DJ watching the sky lights.

I visited Brisbane for the Expo in 1988, and I really liked the city. I was with a high school marching band that was invited to Expo to perform on “USA Day” (July 4th). Of course it was pissing rain for 3 days, but we still had fun. At the time I wasn’t old enough to enjoy rooftop bars (or any other bars), and I’m sure the city has changed dramatically since then. Anyway, I enjoy your posts from Australia. Bye!
