6 of the Best Espresso Martinis in Brisbane CBD

From intimate cocktail bars to laidback eateries, it’s safe to say there’s many hidden gems in Brisbane City home to some of the best Espresso Martinis around, just waiting to be discovered. Keep reading to find out my top six recommendations for this classic cocktail in the heart of Brisbane, in no particular older!

1. Dr Gimlette

Espresso martini at Patina

Situated in the formally known Metro Arts is Dr Gimlette, a bespoke cocktail bar named after the famous Gimlette cocktail. It’s the next successful venture by Cuatro Group, who are behind some of Brisbane’s most popular cocktails bars around the city. Much like many of their cocktails, their take on the classic Espresso Martini can be tweaked according to preference, but you can expect a silky smooth finish, and a craving to have a second (or third)!

2. Antico

Also founded by the talented Cuatro Group, Antico is a luxurious Italian-inspired cocktail bar that boasts two levels, including an intimate mezzanine overlooking the bar. With a decor consisting of chandeliers, leather chairs and a sleek black marble bar, there’s no doubt that Antico shares a similar mood as its sister bars, Death & Taxes and Dr Gimlette. Their Espresso Martini is smooth, delicious and served in a delicate crystal martini glass.

3. Patina

Espresso martini at Patina

Located in the iconic Customs House is Patina, a comtemporary restaurant and cocktail bar that won’t disappoint. Their outdoor dining space offers spectacular views overlooking the Story Bridge and the waterfront, and their cocktails are carefully crafted to cater to every palette. Smooth and delicious, their Espresso Martini is made with Belvedere Pure, Kahlua and Espresso, topped with decorative coffee beans.

4. The Green

The Green is a delicious Lebanese restaurant nestled in the vibrant Fortitude Valley, and home to one of the most delicious Espresso Martinis I’ve ever had. As the name suggests, the decor feels tropical and lush, and makes for the perfect place to unwind for both delicious food and cocktails. Finish a wholesome night at The Green by indulging in one of their delicious Espresso Martinis, made with freshly brewed coffee and topped with coffee beans.

5. Midtown

Espresso martini at Midtown

Tucked away in the vibrant Fish Lane in South Brisbane you’ll find Midtown, a New York inspired bar. With only 40 seats, it exudes intimacy and is perfect for a romantic date night. The service is second to none, thanks to accommodating bartenders who are happy to make almost anything you’re in the mood for. Their Espresso Martini is traditionally made with Spiced Rum, Maple Syrup and Coffee, however this can be easily tweaked to your liking!

6. Corbett & Claude

For a casual cocktail catch-up with friends, look no further than Corbett & Claude. The laidback atmosphere makes this restaurant and bar a great choice to unwind in a relaxed setting, and enjoy some delicious comfort food. If you’re enjoying a cheeky few, you can’t go past their Espresso Martini, made with Nosferatu Vodka, Kahlua and Espresso. Feeling hungry? You won’t regret trying their Affogato – just make sure it comes with a shot of your favourite liqueur on the side!
