6 of the Yummiest Brunch Spots in Auckland

Brunch at Honey Cafe

The highlight of my weekends is usually brunching (with a cheeky cocktail or glass of wine, of course), and that means knowing all the best spots to go no matter which part of Auckland I’m in! Keep reading to find out my top brunch spot recommendations all over the city.

1. Honey Cafe, Takapuna

Honey Cafe is a popular brunch spot in the heart of Takapuna, and after eating here you’ll see why! It’s a great family-friendly spot, and their extensive menu caters for everyone. Honey does the best Smashed Avo I’ve ever had (with a Smoked Salmon add-on), but the Big Brekkie and Chicken Salad are also equally as yummy! It’s advised to book ahead here (especially on weekends), as it can fill up fast.

2. Cornwall Park Bistro, One Tree Hill

After a walk in the lush Cornwall Park, head to the nearby Bistro for a delicious brunch amongst the greenery. It’s light and bright with a sophisticated style, not to mention a few different eating areas to choose from. Take a seat outside on the deck for a nice breeze, or the marble tables inside for a view by the window. I recommend their delicious French Toast if you’re after a sweet treat, or the Mediterranean Bruschetta for a healthy and tasty option.

3. Porch Bar & Eatery, St Heliers

You’ll feel like you’re brunching on the beach at Porch Bar & Eatery, a cute restaurant right on the water side. The menu showcases flavours of South East Asia and are mostly designed to share, making it a great place for a casual catch up with friends. I recommend the Fish Tacos to nibble on, both visually beautiful and tasty! And to finish? Salted Caramel Espresso Martini with grated chocolate on top – trust me, you won’t regret it!

4. Regatta, Takapuna

Feel like Fish and Chips by the water? Regatta is the perfect place to go for this kiwi classic! With a menu that showcases fresh seafood, Regatta is a great brunch spot for those who like their fish, oysters and squid. Enjoy stunning sea views and the iconic Rangitoto from the outdoor terrace, as well as the native Pohutukawa and tropical palms.

5. Devon on the Wharf, Devonport

Tucked away inside Devonport’s Ferry Terminal you’ll find the most delicious Mediterranian and Turkish cuisine at Devon on the Wharf. Enjoy a unique, Turkish twist on many of the classic pizzas and brunch dishes found at most cafes and restaurants. To eat, I recommend their Lunch Plate – a wholesome and healthy meal consisting on pita bread, chickpeas and a yummy hummus (Falafel is a great choice if you’re a fellow vegetarian).

6. Plumm Cafe, Takapuna

Tucked away in the Takapuna shops is Plumm Cafe, and next to it, an unsuspecting alleyway leading to a secret courtyard and garden with extra seating! Enjoy your brunch below native birds in the treetops if it’s sunny, or take a seat under the sheltered eating space if not. it In winter you’ll even find soft blankets out here to wrap around you. To eat, I recommend the yummy Smashed Avo or the wholesome Big Brekkie.
