Icy fingers caress my veins
While overhead, the moon wanes
The sky reflects an eerie glow
Observing me in sheets of snow
A flick of movement through the trees
Makes every bone in my body freeze
The realisation that I’m not alone
Holds an ominous, sinistrous undertone
My body won’t move, resisting the urge
My blood runs cold as They emerge
Within seconds I’m coming undone
Marking a battle that can’t be won
